Food is more than a hunger meter, since recipes and preparation methods create useful benefits, while seeds, fish, and livestock support a more self-sufficient train. Hostile wildlife and raiders force you to craft armor and weapons, then reinforce the locomotive with mounted crossbows, cannons, and stronger construction materials.
